Maryfrances Wagner Learn all you can about the craft of writing. There are rules and standards for any kind of writing. It's not just putting words on paper and staying attached to our words. Writing is a discipline like any other. Its skills require practice and revision. It's not as easy as many think. The writer tries to make it look that way, but it came from hours of work, revision, rethinking, and frustration. If you don't need to write, don't bother. If you want to keep writing despite all of the hurdles, learn what you need to know to be good.
