Honestly, I've never felt the temptation (though it's been suggested a few times). You basically see his introduction as 'Deathmask' in A Dance of Blades. Anything before that's fairly, well, boring. He sits in the tower. He spies. He plots. He gets caught. The seventh Half-Orc book, King of the Vile, does get a tiny bit more into who he was, but it's nothing too crazy.
So, a new Deathmask book would have to be one focusing more on his guild after it's creation. Question is: when? Do I set it during the Shadowdance series? The Half-Orcs? If Half-Orcs, when during the series? During the events taking place in books 6-7? Prior to fleeing Veldaren in book 3?
Most importantly, though, I have characters of mine I love but I know work best when bouncing off of other characters. Deathmask's one of them. I need him bickering with Tarlak, or sparring with Haern. So trying to write a series dedicated to Deathmask, but integrating in, say, the Eschaton or the various Paladins...well I'm practically writing another Half-Orc book at that point.

I have read all your books over and over, I love your work and I hope you don't mind I have a yellow mage named tarlak in two different mmos. Anyways, what's the release date looking like for king of the fallen? I'm really looking forward to finding out what happens after that huge cliffhanger you left us with
