I look up to you in so many ways. As a young, growing women you inspire me! When I read your quotes, they seem so raw to me and they really make me think in depth about myself & life. I am not going to lie I just spent the last 2 hours reading your quotes while I am at work. What advice do you have for me, a young women trying to find my path in life? I have so much potential and I am searching for my true passions.

Hi, Lauren!

Thank you so much for this message, for your question, and thank you so much for reading and appreciating the things that I write! I'm glad to hear you spent two hours just reading the words I am quoted for, on Goodreads! :)

Wow... it's really hard to give advice to a young woman trying to find her path in life... it's supposed to be easy to answer that, right? But that's just the stereotype. Realistically, a young woman trying to find her path in life is a tremendously serious thing, and is to be handled and dealt with, with the utmost care! A woman finding a mission is a volatile and a powerful force to reckon with!

I'm going to go with my intuition here, in saying that I really think that you need to start looking at yourself from your own "heart angles" and not from the perspectives of the world around you, or even the people immediately around you. Tend to yourself, tend to your wounds, comfort yourself, allow yourself to be comforted, soothe yourself, allow yourself to be soothed, don't push yourself to do things just to make a mark in the world; only push yourself to do things if you have a hunger for them. We need to fill our own hunger, for our own selves. We need to take care of ourselves, and we need to experience good things like laughter and healing. Be gentle with yourself, always. When you are gentle with yourself, you can be gentle with others.

I tend to be my own worst critic and I think that it does the world some good when I criticise myself, because it gives the world one less person to criticise! But that's a really sad way to be, and I have learned that we only do the world any good, when we treat ourselves good, when we are gentle with ourselves and when we love ourselves. Forget the people in your life who did not treat you gently! We are here to forge our own paths and we choose the flowers that we pick to bring with us along the way! Choose your flowers wisely. :)

I hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to ask any other questions in the future!

Sincerely,
C. Bells
