My book club here is reading Fatimah Asghar's When We Were Sisters, and I happened upon your review of it here on Goodreads. It made my heart jump! Oh gosh I was harsh about that book, so sorry, but also what a coincidence to hear from you bec was thinking of you so strongly last Monday when, for the first time in the history of bibliophilistines, we all liked the book! —and I wanted to tell you about that miracle. Paul Auster, City of Glass. We liked it so much that we’re reading the whole New York Trilogy in March. Since Chouette I’ve written two more novels and I’m happy about that.
