Eek, it's always so hard for me to answer this question, because to me, each book really feels like one small part of a larger whole. The story is ongoing through the series, we're just breaking it into individual books because otherwise it would be the longest, thickest, heaviest book on the planet and everyone would hurt their back trying to pick it up to read.
That being said, I'm always most attached to the book that hasn't come out yet--whichever one it may be--because that's the time where the story exists but I'm the only one who knows about it yet. It's just MINE. Once it goes out into the world it becomes YOURS, which is an incredible, amazing thing and I wouldn't trade it. But there is something special about having all the story's secrets kept just between me and the characters. :)
