Mo asked Lilo Abernathy:

How did Bluebell's story come to light? I absolutely enjoyed Book 1. I'd like to know more about Varg. Thanks for a great read. Mo

Lilo Abernathy Hi Mo,

Interesting question and the answer may be surprising.

I really wanted to address the issues of prejudice and discrimination that currently exists in our world in a non-confrontational way, so that readers could observe it from a non-personal direction. Urban Fantasy and Paranormal is a great place to spin a tale about the harms caused by prejudice. The world, breeds, and religions were built around that concept.

At the same time I wanted the reader to feel the pain of prejudice and discrimination outside of our normal contexts, so Blue's story unfolded from that perspective.

I must have a little sexy in my stories. Enter Jack!

Finally, I insisted that everything should be fun so the heavy topics would be palatable. Enter Maud, Varg, Dragomira, Rubalia, and the magic. :)

And so you have the primary cast and world!

You can read more about Varg in the short story The Binding of the Wolf and you also get a lot more of him in The Light Who Binds.
