Sherry Fundin asked Marilyn Peake:

I shared The Fisherman's Son for my Teaser Tuesday post: http://www.fundinmental.com/teaser-tuesday-45-free-middle-grade-fantasy-the-fishermans-son-by-marilyn-peake I love covers and am curious to how much input you have and do you make the final decision?

Marilyn Peake Thank you so much, Sherry! I was delighted to see The Fisherman's Son featured in your Tuesday Teaser post! I was also very touched by the kind, concerned and loving comments expressed about my main character, Wiley O'Mara, by you and the commenters on your page, worrying about how things will turn out for him. Out of all the characters I've created, Wiley's one of my favorites. I have a very special place in my heart for him.

In answer to your question about book covers, the book cover artwork I'm currently using for The Fisherman's Son was created by a former publisher of the book. I purchased the rights to the cover when I decided to self-publish the book because I loved it so much. For books that I'm currently publishing, I hire the book cover artists, so I have a huge say in the final artwork. For me personally, one of the most exciting times in getting ready to publish a new book is seeing what the artist comes up with. I've worked with some very talented artists!

Thanks again for your interest in The Fisherman's Son and for highlighting all three books in the trilogy on your site. I really appreciate it!
