Cintia asked Sandra Byrd:

Hi! I'd love to read your books but I wasn't able so far, because they are not sold in my country. I just wanted to ask, how do you handle writer's block? From an aspiring writer who suffers a serious case of blocking...

Sandra Byrd Hey Cintia! I'm sorry my books aren't there yet. I hope they will be, soon!

Writer's block is often a case of either anxiety, or not knowing what comes next. Outlining your entire novel, even loosely, before you begin, can help. You'll always have a good idea of what comes next, so you can begin to write in that direction. It also helps with anxiety, because you aren't staring at a completely blank page.

James Scott Bell wrote an article once called, The Nifty 350. In it, he says just get yourself through 350 words, and after you do, the pump is primed and everything else will flow much more easily. Just make yourself do 350 words and see what follows!

Happy weekend! Sandra
