They are! At least in the first book. When i had to find quotes for Inkspell and then for Inkdeath I ran out of favorites and discovered many new favorites while I was looking for quotes. Which was quite wonderful!

Cornelia, I have a question about your books in the Inkheart series. My name is Hannah, and I read all of the Inkheart series and I loved them, I just wanted to know, how do you do it. Make just lovely stories. Every time I read a page I imangined I was with Meggie and Mo. It was so lifelike. Other than perfectly wording it how do you do that? I want to be a writer someday so it is helpful. Though I'm 13.

Having read many of your books, I would like to ask you if you emphasize on character, plot or emotional development more as you write. Also, is there some metaphorical meaning that you intend to convey to your readers, or is it just my misconception? Finally, I would be very obliged if you could explain to me how you manage humour, for you rarely make use of slapstick comedy.
