Elizabeth Gilbert I'll answer the one question! I try to speak to my more feral and crazy emotions the way a loving mother speaks to an emotional, temperamental toddler I do a lot of, "There, there, little bunny...calm down." I will actually say that a lot as I am writing. Then I promise myself nice treats if I can get a certain amount of work done. I am not above bribing toddlers to be good! You would be amazed how much work I can get done if I promise myself that — if I write well every day that week — we can go buy ourselves a nice new sweater from J. Crew.
