I began writing with crayolas in kindergarten. Seriously :) I started writing my first League novel (no kidding) in fourth grade. Wrote my first novel at age eight. Published my first short story in third grade in a local paper. I started publishing Dark-Hunter short stories in college. The first one was in print in 1984 (I thought it was later than that, but hubby found one of the stories in storage and framed it-- I am SOOOO old). I kind of liked the delusion that it was later, but oh well . . . I'll go with 31 years on publishing DH stories. Published the first League novel in 1992. Wow . . . okay on that note, I'm thinking I need to go find some vitamins :)

So, I been a huge fan since high school and it was the DH series that started my own love for writing. I think a large part of that is because of the characters you create and how they just come alive in the books, especially in Acheron and Styxx. I was just wondering how you create such in-depth characters and if you had any advice for someone who struggles in that area?
