I love your book Inkheart! My question is, did you base any of your characters (besides Elinor) off of anybody? If not, what was your inspiration for them? Especially Meggie.

Elinor is based on a collector of children's book (only her name is my friend's:) Mo is based on Brendan Fraser, the Canadian actor. Meggie has traces of me and my daughter Anna, but also of all the book-passionate girls I met in my life. Dustfinger....well, he just showed up and was himself:)

Cornelia, I have a question about your books in the Inkheart series. My name is Hannah, and I read all of the Inkheart series and I loved them, I just wanted to know, how do you do it. Make just lovely stories. Every time I read a page I imangined I was with Meggie and Mo. It was so lifelike. Other than perfectly wording it how do you do that? I want to be a writer someday so it is helpful. Though I'm 13.

Hi Cornelia! I am a huge fan of your books and I am also an aspiring author. I was hoping you might have some advice for me about sticking to writing. How many words would you recommend trying to write in a day? I also have so many ideas, but I jump around and never finish. I have finally chosen one to see through first, but now I am having trouble finishing my plot and just writing in general. Any advice?
