Hi Lois, I just went EXTREMELY short of sleep because I bought the eARC yesterday, so congrats (LOVED the book.) My question is: Are you a hockey fan? If so, is it possible that your team is the Caps? I just noticed two characters' names (Kuznetsov and Aucoin) are current and former players.

Nope, I got the names off ethnic/country-of-origin name lists, probably Wikipedia, though I sometimes find other sources.
The coincidence is amusing, however.

I just finished Orphans of Raspay. Thank you as always. But it sparked an odd thought. It seems like Penric's life is going to overlap that of the Golden General and Fonsa, far away though they may be. Like when I realized that if Julius Cesar died in 44 BC, there must have been people alive at the same time as both he and Jesus, a few could even conceivably have met both of them (Magi). Odd, yes?
