Tiff asked Darren Shan:

When you start writing a new series, do you have the story planned out from beginning to the end? or do you decide later on?

Darren Shan Zom-B is actually the only long series that I've written where I knew in advance that it was going to BE a long series! (Well, except for The Saga Of Larten Crepsley, obviously.) With The Saga Of Darren Shan and The Demonata, they both mushroomed during the writing process and evolved into something far bigger and more ambitious than I had anticipated. With Zom-B, I knew where I was going to end up, but I didn't know exactly how I was going to get there, or how many books it would take to tell the story. Also, even though I THOUGHT I knew the ending, it ended up changing, because of the growth of the main character over the course of the series.
