Shannon Messenger I actually have given advice in other answers, so you may want to take the time to scroll through. And for now, I'll say: remember that writing and publishing are two different things. It's so easy to get caught up in all the "how do I get published" stuff when you're trying to be an author and forget that the first and by FAR most important thing is to write the best book you possibly can. Focus your time and energy on reading and writing as much as you can until you have written a book you're so proud of you can't wait to try to get it published. Then you can google "how to get published" and go from there.
