Did you want to be an author when you were younger? If you did, when did you start writing? If you didn't, when did you figure out that was what you wanted to do?

I did not. When I was younger, I wanted to be a Disney animator. But my artistic skills weren't quite what they needed to be--and I was getting frustrated with my art classes as a result--so I decided to take a break for a semester (I was in College at that point) and took some other classes instead. One was a script-writing class and I immediately fell in love with it and soon switched to being a film major. It wasn't until after I graduated--and realized that Hollywood and I were a wrong fit--before I decided to try writing books instead, and had that moment of THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER. So it was a bit of a journey.

My sister and I are huge fans of you and kotlc. We were wondering if you knew about bookcon and were wondering if you could come. Also, we are not sure how old you have to be to go to these cons and not feel awkward and immature. We know you have experience with cons so we just thought we'd ask. We live in New York, so any visit here would be appreciated. Especially on your Neverseen tour! But book con works too?
