Eek, I hate picking favorites because I love so many things for so many different reasons. So instead of picking favorite books, I'm going to call out a few authors I love.
For YA, I love Kasie West, Ally Carter, Stephanie Perkins, Marie Lu, and Kiersten white (though that is in NO WAY an exhaustive list).
And for middle grade I love Michael Buckley, Lisa McMann, Brandon Mull, Rick Riordan, and JK Rowling.
