I am enjoying the first Gateway Trilogy book and so far am really enjoying it. My question is, is it an appropriate read for a 13/14 year old girl? So far it is not sexual but I would like to recommend it to her but haven't finished it yet.

Happy to hear from you, and glad to hear you are enjoying the book. There is some cursing in the book (nothing a 13/14 year old hasn't heard, I'm sure) and there is a scene with an attempted date rape scenario, but it is merely suggested, not graphic or explicit in any way. I would recommend reading that scene for yourself first, just to be sure you are comfortable with it. I would certainly recommend it to that age group myself, but everyone is different, and you know this particular reader personally. The entire series stays pretty much entirely clear of sexual content. I hope this answers you question, and that you enjoy the rest of the series (and that your young friend does too!)
