Goodreads asked Lucas Hargis:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lucas Hargis This is a hard one in the sense that I have no idea what to consider my "most recent book".

Is it this one since it's the last one I completed drafting?
Well, the title birthed it. One day, it just popped into my head. But not just the words. I saw the whole IF FOUND, RETURN TO ASTROPOP scribbled in Sharpie on a journal's label.

Or another one, Epistle of Doff, I first drafted in 2012's NaNoWriMo, that I've edited off & on since then, and am finally calling "done" enough to send to my agent (today!)?
It stemmed from the question: If another Great Flood wiped out all life on earth, and we fast forward millions of years, what would people/daily life/technology/landscape/religion/philosophy/history in that future society look like? (This answer might be cheating since it's also kinda a question?)

Or the manuscript that's halfway written & remaining that way for a bit?
It's called Gaydreaming. Its genesis was in exploring what would happen if teen best friends, each closeted and secretly crushing on the other, fell for each other's alter egos via a gay dating app.

Or the idea I'm plotting now?
Currently [title-less]. This one was triggered by the random phrase:
Let's turn this funeral house into a funeral home.
It may or may not end up being as my first Middle Grade.

[No character limit in this window, right? K. I'll just leave 'em on in here.]
