How do you come up with ass theses amazing stories? Like is there any tips you can give people who want to become a author?
John Gwynne
Hi Henry,
Great to hear you're enjoying the series so far, and thank-you for the kind words.
As for writing tips, I don't really feel qualified to answer that. In many ways I feel that I just got lucky. I can tell you a little about how I came to write Malice, and some of the background work that went into it.
Basically I read a lot. Malice was the first piece of creative writing I've ever done, before that only essays and the odd dissertation or two. I approached writing fantasy the only way I knew how to write, the way that I'd learned at University. To read, read, read, and then to read some more. So I did a lot of research, mostly into ancient history and mythology, and anything that sparked some interest or passion went into my 'ideas pot.'
I'll put a link here to a guest blog post that I wrote that has more detail on that subject.

I hope that helps.
Best,
John

Hey John, ever felt the joy of being immersed in a series so much you find yourself finishing it faster than you want and then the dreaded realization a great series is going to end? That is how I feel about the Faithful and The Fallen. I am finishing it too fast! But I noticed you have started a new series, "Of Blood and Bone"! Could I ask how many books will it be?

Hi John, How are you? I was sad to have missed the opportunity to meet you in London for your signing event as I've been bobbed down by work. Will you be doing any more book signings for Wrath? Cannot wait to start the fourth and final book in the Faithful and the Fallen series, Ian
