Hello Shannon!I was wondering if your publishers have come up with a Let the Wind Rise cover in the original version. Not that I hate the new covers, but I just think they don't do the justice of the stories at all, not one bit.I get that they display more of the danger and adventure side, but the stories also focus a whole lot on romance, and book 2 was talking so much about the bond.So if there's one, can we see it?

Shannon Messenger I know cover changes are hard. I know there are always some who prefer the originals and think WHY WHY WHY DID THEY HAVE TO CHANGE IT??? And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Everyone has their own taste and preferences.

And I'm sure you've probably already heard the spiel from other authors, explaining that cover changes are decided by the publisher for all kinds of business-y, marketing related reasons that have nothing to do with them. So I won't go into that again.

In this case, I knew the covers would be changing before I even wrote one word of book 3. So there was never anything other than the cover you guys have seen. And the really funny thing is, while you're sitting there lamenting how the new direction isn't as romantic as you feel the book should be, I'm getting just as many comments from people saying "thank goodness, the other covers were so sappy and mushy and the books are so much more than a love story." Like I said, everyone has their own preference.

Personally, I love both designs (though, if I'm being honest, I do actually think the new looks better match how I see the story). But I know some will always love the older looks better and sadly there's nothing I can do to change that. The old covers were lovely and I'm glad to have them on my shelf. And I'm super excited to put the new covers next to them.

All I really hope is that everyone loves the ending I've given Vane and Audra. I know I do. I can't wait for everyone to read.
