Natalee asked C.E. Murphy:

Which authors in your own genre do you read?

C.E. Murphy Hah! Um. Depends on where we draw genre lines. If we're talking urban fantasy--honestly, I've read practically no urban fantasy in the past decade, because it's been too much like work.

That said, I'm really enjoying DB Cole's Thieftaker books, which are urban fantasy set during the US Revolutionary War, and I recently read and just about died of squee over Beth Cato's upcoming CLOCKWORK DAGGER, which is steampunk not urban fantasy, properly, but ai, I loved it.

In broader fantasy, I just finished Rachel Aaron's Spirit series, which was absolutely terrific epic fantasy, Meg Cabot's take on Persephone, the Abandon trilogy, I've recently re-read Kim Stanley Robinson's brilliant Science in the Capital trilogy... I'm trying to get a bit of everything in these days!
