I was disappointed in the misinformation that you stated in your book After Dead page 113. Lupus is not a disease that you contract. It is an autoimmune disease that you develop. There is no know cause at this point, it can be hard to diagnose and is many times misdiagnosed unless it is a classic case with a positive ANA reading. It can kill a person like you stated. Who made this mistake?

Charlaine Harris Well, initially me, and none of the people who fact-check me caught it, either. I actually know that now, but obviously at the time I didn't. I certainly confused "contract" with "develop."
