Mary Hart asked Elizabeth Hoyt:

Have you considered writing a Novella about an older couple? There's very few of these around is this because the greatest proportion of romance buying demographic is 20-30s?

Elizabeth Hoyt Hi Mary,
Actually I think the greatest proportion of romance buyers are women 20-50s, but don't quote me. ;-)
I have considered doing a novella for Lady Caire (Lazarus's mother) but I don't know if I'll ever have time to do it. I think part of the reason more older couple romances aren't done is because part of the romance is the growth of the heroine and hero--and most mature people pretty much know where they are in life and WHO they are. There's simply less to explore in the character, if you see what I mean. That's not to say that older characters are less interesting, just that they're less likely to change and have revelations about themselves and the world.
