Nikki Broadwell
Nikki Broadwell asked Adam Nicholls:

Hi Adam--as a crime writer maybe you can give me your opinion--I'm working on a book that is about a school shooting (common here in the U.S.) but I've heard friends say they would never read a book about that subject--the series is paranormal mystery and I'm not going into gruesome detail...(ghosts and so on will take over the plot line, I'm sure)what do you think?

Adam Nicholls Hi Nikki. Where I do enjoy a ghost story, I would personally steer clear of writing a story based on that sore subject. I think that, even if it were a masterpiece, people would find it controversial. Stephen king, for example, had a book called 'Rage' which was of the same subject. But after the recent attacks, he found that it was in poor taste and removed it from publication. For that reason, I agree. However, there are similar situations which may not offend or upset a reader so easily. Regardless of what you do, I hope it works out great. Best of luck.
