What is your process for writing? Do you have any rituals/habits that you do to help the process flow?

Hi Jazzmine, Thank you for your question!
I usually read a lot of poetry to keep the inspiration coming. Either poetry, a novel, or watch a meaningful movie. But when nothing works, I just leave it there. I need to have a line or a thought that resonates deeply with me, else I cannot write. And when I have that one line, I build my poem around it, fleshing it out with all the possible images and emotions I can.
When you read a poem, you may have often come across a particular line that gives you chills. In my experience, that is always the first thing that inspired the poet.
I've gone months and months without writing a single poem, and once ended up writing 30 poems in 30 days. That's how it is with me. It's either all or nothing. I've never really thought about my writing process, so thank you for making me do that!
Oh, talking of rituals, I do have one..since I am a nocturnal writer. I spend some time alone every night in my balcony gazing at the sky. And if I'm lucky, an owl comes by and gives me company :).
Be well, my friend.

Firstly, thank you for such wonderful insights and inspirations ... your poetry fills me with ideas and meditations for my photography. At present I am compiling a photographic essay/book about diverse cloud formations where I am quoting poems and adages by famous people to connect with each image. I was tentatively wondering if I may quote part of one of your poems? It would be an absolute honour.
