Hi, my turn to ask a question so food. Can you remember what an "Oil Cake" is supposed to be ? Mountains of Mourning breakfast AND after Caz's breakfast before collecting Laundry in Curse of Chalion. The dictionary doesn't help and nor do the recipe pages give a likely answer. Could be just a cake' fried in oil I suppose ?

It's basically some species of doughnut, either bread or cake, bakery or street-food version. Funnel cakes from the State Fair are yet another type. Local variations in the recipes may be expected to be numberless.

Hi Lois... I have Flowers of Vashnoi sitting in my Kindle, but I just can't bring myself to start it. Once I start it, I know I'll just keep reading until the end, and then it will be over. I like knowing there is a new Vorkosigan book waiting for me, but since I can't have my cake and eat it too, I just want to have it for a while. Is this too weird?
