Hello, Ms. Erickson. Against the rules, I wanted to ask you about your opinion on writer's block, bad first drafts, negative reviews and procrastination. I know none of these are about your past releases or upcoming ones or your addiction but as I'm an aspiring writer, I often suffer from these and I just wanted to know about your opinion of them and if you have experienced any of them, how you overcame? Thanks, :)

Hello Maria!
Let's see: Regarding writer's block--I have a couple of fall back tricks. I listen to music that inspires me or I take a drive. A shower often jogs my creativity too. And sometimes, I just have to force myself to write anyway. At least then words are on the page. I can always revise them!
I'm a huge procrastinator. But then I work well on a tight deadline so it works for me?
Regarding first drafts -- mine are certainly not perfect. A lot of times, I'll stop about halfway when drafting and go back through the beginning and fix errors for consistency before finishing up a book. "Bad" first drafts are okay. The magic of a book is in the revisions.
Negative reviews sting but I do a pretty good job deal with them. Here's the deal, once I publish my book? It's not mine. I let it goooooo. It's in the readers' hands now.
I hope that helped! Good luck to you!

First congratulations on Strong Signal! It's an amazing book & I loved it! I have 2 questions if that's Ok. 1. Will you and Santino be writing any more books together? 2. If you could bring 1 character from one of your books to life, which one would it be & why? Thanks so much for such wonderful and amazing books! I have high standards when it comes to books & you go beyond meeting them!
