Ha, that was both planned but unintentional--and what I mean is, I very specifically chose Sophie's hair and eye color for lots of reasons. But I never really noticed the similarity between her coloring and mine until after I revealed the first cover, and people started asking if Sophie was supposed to look like me. That definitely wasn't my goal (and for the record, when I was Sophie's age, I definitely wasn't that cute. Hello awkward phase!). I chose blond hair for her because she was inspired very loosely by my love of Legolas. And I gave her brown eyes because I wanted her to have something different about her appearance, and in my research on elves, much of the lore about them mentioned them having blue eyes.
