Yay for loving my books! And yay for wanting to be an author. And ha, adding length to my stories is clearly something I do all the time (*writes the longest books in the world*)
Usually the trick to adding to a story is pretty simple: you do *more.* Make the plot more complicated. Add more characters to the scene--and give them stuff to do while they're there. Add some side plots. Just make sure it all relates to the story in a way that makes it deeper and richer (otherwise more is just...more).

Hi there! I was wondering, and I'm not sure if you've answered this already, but how many cats is an embarrassing number? because at one time I had 15 cats. No joke. don't know where they came from... Other questions I have are these: Have you ever critiqued another author's work? Has your work ever been critiqued? Are any of your friends authors? Do they write different genres from you? Sorry, I'm inquisitive. :p
