MH asked Sarah MacLean:

Sarah, I *ADORE* your books. What resources do you use to do your research?

Sarah MacLean Hi Mariah,
Thanks so much for reading and for your question!
I do research all the time -- watching movies & television, reading books, traveling, reading gossip columns, surfing the web. The truth is, I can come up with a story from pretty much anything, and it's a lot less difficult setting it down in the 1800s than you would think (technology aside).
But -- I couldn't write without the New York Public Library and an annual visit to the British Library. I could spend months in those collections reading newspapers and exploring letters and other things from the time periods in which I write. The library is the best place to begin any research on a time period -- nothing inspires like primary sources!
xx
