Hiya, so as I was rerererereading the Sky Fall series in order to get ready for Let the Wind Rise, I wondered how you came up with the specific wind commands, like how to call an Easterly or Northerly or Westerly or Southerly? And then I wondered how you even came across the idea of basically personificating the wind? Or pretty much what was your inspiration for this series? Lol

Shannon Messenger I've always been fascinated by wind. I think it's because I grew up in the cities where the books take place and the wind is so crazy there, it feels like it's alive. I always used to imagine there were things controlling the wind and making it be so sporadic, and over time, that grew into the mythology of the series.
