Hi Ruta! I have a question: How long did it take you to write your books? I'm asking because I'm currently writing a short story and I'm considering turning it into a full-out YA novel, but I'm not sure whether I should or not because I'm pretty busy with school and such. I was so happy to hear that you're writing a short story. Congratulations!!

It takes me three to four years to research and write each book. I know that probably seems like a long time, but I enjoy the process so much and the time seems to go quickly.

It's so hard to choose just one of my books as a favorite, but I did love writing "Out of the Easy." That book was a true joy to create.

Hi Ruta! I loved OotE and BSoG! I'm an aspiring author and avid writer. I love to write LGBTQ fiction, and I also want to tackle writing historical fiction one day. But I have a firm belief that LGBTQ people deserve to see characters like them in fiction who don't die sad and alone, and I'm not sure how to combine these two genres while still retaining that principle.
