The fans' reaction to Sarah St. John and D'Arque's meeting scene in "Lord of Darkness" was really enthusiastic. Were you surprised or confused that we found the pair to be so appealing?

Elizabeth Hoyt Well, yes, but I shouldn't've have been--after all I DID write that scene. The surprise was that I had written it so long ago...for me. Readers have READ it more recently and I forget that sometimes. So when it came time to write a novella I thought that readers had forgotten about Sarah and d'Arque...which apparently they hadn't. ;-)
