Cornelia Funke:
Hello Cornelia! I'm currently reading Inkheart and I have a question for you. First I would like to say that I absolutely love Inkheart, it's great to read about people that love books as much as I do. I wish I could be just like Elinor, rich and surrounded by books. My question is, have you ever thought about writing Fenoglio's Inkheart with the adventres of Dustfinger, Capricorn, Basta and all the other creatures?
Cornelia Funke
No, I actually don't think I could as Fenoglio's voice sounds quite different from mine, I am sure. Also ...I am not sure I want to write a story where I know it will have quite a sad ending. After all Dustfinger will loose his family and will be exiled to our world. I am working on a sequel of Inkdeath at the moment as I like it better to not know where the story is going

May I just say that it is an honor to be writing to you. I've been a fan since I picked up Inkheart back in the seventh grade. Your books are literally magic spun by gold. I was looking through my copy of Inkheart and on page 143, where Mo was talking about the little glass man appearing and the mailman disappearing, and that got me thinking. I know the mailman is not important, but whatever happened to him?

Having read many of your books, I would like to ask you if you emphasize on character, plot or emotional development more as you write. Also, is there some metaphorical meaning that you intend to convey to your readers, or is it just my misconception? Finally, I would be very obliged if you could explain to me how you manage humour, for you rarely make use of slapstick comedy.
