Elizabeth Barter asked Zoë S. Roy:

Just wanted to thank you ,and say hello. What drew you into the field of Adult Education?Does your experience teaching ,influence what you write about?I'm looking forward to reading some of your stories. Who do you read , and how do they inspire you?

Zoë S. Roy Thanks so much for your interest in some of my stories, Elizabeth. Here are my answers to your inspiring questions. The idea of interacting with adults made me choose the field. My experience of teaching deepens my understanding of people, but only has a ripple effect on what I write. I think I’m influenced more by what I read in my youth. I was fascinated in the classical literature and still enjoy old-fashioned themes, such as life and death, love and hate, as well as human conditions. There are too many writers to name… Reading their stories, I imagined the lives of the characters and experiences I didn’t have. I read some contemporary fiction and am willing to get inspired. :-) I guess curiosity about other human beings is my initial inspiration for writing human stories.
