This might seem totally random, but I am reading you In Her Name books, and my mind started wandering to what would happen if the Kreelans exploring the frontier stumbled across an early industrial age world, similar to Earth in the late 1700's and early 1800's. It seems that they Kreelans are hell-bent on giving the humans a "fair-fight", but would they even bother with such a primitive culture? Thanks in advance.

Yes, they would, because their motivation is, first and foremost, to find The One that would redeem their race. And, in truth, had they stumbled upon a civilization in that age of development - or, better yet, back in the Middle Ages in Europe or Imperial China or Japan, as a few examples - they would have been overjoyed: sword against sword. They don't like using technology in battle unless they have no other choice.

Is it magic or is it science; fantasy or science fiction? I still don't know how to answer that. Most science fiction provides "human" reasons for actions. How difficult was it to set that aside and create motivations for an alien species? I admire how you provide human observation of alien actions that make more sense to a child (Allison) than to an adult (Soto).
