Jayde asked Colleen Houck:

Hi Colleen, I was wondering what inspired you to start writing and to continue after all the difficulties and problems that a writer would encounter? Thank you for taking the time to answer my question :)

Colleen Houck I started writing in 2008 after reading the Twilight series and falling in love with Edward. It was my first foray into YA and that's pretty much all I read now. When I found out Stephenie Meyer was about my age, it inspired me to give writing a try. Tiger's Curse was the result. Writers don't encounter difficulties that are too much different from anyone else who has a dream and has to create it from scratch. Musicians, artists, people who want to set up their own businesses, they all have something in common and that is, they have to believe in what they are doing and not give up. It has to be important enough to them to keep at it every day, even when others tell them to quit. That takes a certain level of tenacity that not everyone has.
