Hi, I was wondering why "Winterfair Gifts" the novella in IRRESISTIBLE FORCES is never mentioned in any of the timelines for the Vorkosigan series? Is it because it was published by NAL rather than BAEN? That was my introduction to your work and I cherish my inscribed copy.

Well, besides the fact that a lot of the books were published before "Winterfair Gifts" was written, it was not a Baen book. The story does now appear in the omnibus Miles in Love, however.

Sorry about question below, character limit. Presumably deaths normally occur at a more or less steady rate, then there’s a war & sudden upsurge in violent/traumatic deaths, do the gods recognize that as war? Unless upswings in the death count in one part of the world get evened out worldwide? As the gods can’t comprehend boundaries, how aware are they that one of their favorites may be causing all that carnage?
