I don't know which book you're referring to, so I'll talk about the two series I have so far:
I wrote the Girl from the Well series because I wanted an authentic YA Asian horror, which I hadn't seen yet. Also, drowned women in wells turned malevolent against their will deserve more love. Ghost stories were some of my best friends growing up.
I wrote The Bone Witch series because I wanted to write a YA high fantasy with 1.) an anti-heroine, and 2.) a fantasy with a lot of worldbuilding, and a story that won't (and shouldn't) be overshadowed by the romance.

I am a young author and i'm working on finishing a couple books. I won't be done writing them for awhile though. I just was wondering how you became an author and got your books out there. I'm also wondering if I can be a writer through Good Reads the same as you. I just wanted to see if you could give me any good tips. Do you have like any advice or answers? I would say more but Good Reads doesn't let me.
