Kristen asked Lori Foster:

Your book covers have some very nice looking men on them. Are you part of the interview process with these men? If so, can I join you? Lol I maybe married but I'm not dead

Lori Foster lol. Thank you! I love most of my covers, too.
I don't get to choose the men directly. The process that happens is that the art dept at my publishing house - HQN - comes up with a cover concept using stock art - which is just to show me their plans on how the cover will be laid out.
Then they scout out a few models based on the description I've given them.
They show me some publicity shots of those models and I weigh in on my favorites.
After that, they do a photo shoot with the fave and send me various poses to see which ones I like the best.
Lastly they send me a mock up of the cover and once that's approved, they finalize everything, spiffing it up a little and adding any reasonable changes I've requested.
Usually my biggest request is that, if the man is shirtless he must have chest hair. Otherwise, put him in a shirt! :-)
Now, that process is strictly for new single titles.
For reissues & novellas, they use stock art. Much quicker!
Thanks for the great question!
