Hi, Brenda!! As you already know, I absolutely LOVE your books! My question is - where do you find the inspiration for so many characters? Are they pulled from people you know, movies/books, the news? Your characters are so well-defined in your books that I have often wondered this while reading them.

Brenda Novak It's great to hear from you, Sharilyn! I am so happy that you enjoy my books. Thanks for saying so. I do get inspiration for my characters from people I know or have met, but they are also radically different. Real people are far too inconsistent. If I tried to put one in a book, they would come off as unbelievable. Isn't that an irony?

I have just started the Whiskey Creek series (no idea what took me so long), but I am loving every bit of it!!! I was curious what your favorite type of book to read was. I'm sure you read a lot of romance as inspiration, but is there a certain type that you gravitate towards if you want to just read? Do you switch to something completely different to just get out of romance for a little and reset?
