I've only just stumbled across your books last week and have been tearing through your 'Nature of Desire' series ever since. I've just finished reading 'Mirror of my Soul' and Tyler and Marguerite's story was one of the best I've read in the genre so far. Though I greatly enjoyed the books, I was wondering what compelled you to break the story in two, and at that heartbreaking scene at the end of 'Ice Queen' at that?

Jessica, I'm so sorry it took me a couple days to answer this. For some reason my email notifications from GoodReads was not working. Regardless, thank you for your patience! When I originally wrote Ice Queen/Mirror of My Soul over a decade ago, it was one complete book. Unfortunately, that made it far longer than the print size restrictions from my publisher. Since it was a small press with small print runs, the per unit cost would have been insane - grin. As such, they indicated we needed to split it into two books for both digital and print versions. The dilemma came when I couldn't find any good place to break it. Either it would leave off at a really mundane, "meh" moment like "Okay, we're going to go get lunch now. The End." (lol) Or I could choose to close with that scene at the club with her and Tyler, since it was a significant turning point in their relationship.
While that's what we did, we all realized that was a real cliffhanger point, so the publisher fortunately expedited releasing Mirror of My Soul much sooner in both print and ebook versions so people didn't have to wait long to continue the story.
When the rights to the books reverted to me this past year, since so many people already know these as two books (and self published authors face the same issue as small press in a thick book being prohibitively expensive), we kept it at is.
I am so glad you've been enjoying the series! Thank you so much for the warm compliment and the question. If you'd like some free reads about these same characters, I like to revisit them in free novella/shorts as a thank you to my readers. There's a novella about Marguerite and Tyler called "Tyler Tied Up", and one about Mac and Violet called "The Baby Shower", as well as some others. If those would be of interest, you can find them in all the popular download formats over at the JWH Connection fan forum. Access info here - storywitch.com/community.
Let me know if you have any other questions. :>

Hi Joey: I recently finished reading "Night's Templar." It was an emotional roller coaster ride. Loved it. I find the Fae race remarkable and unpredictable, which makes for an exciting read. I was wondering if you will be writing more books with the Fae as the central or major appearance characters?
