Evan why do you have to wait for a contract? Why not just self publish it? I have read many books Authors who have self published.

I do self publish many things, such as the Hayden series, but 47North contracted the rights to my Odyssey books early on and, so, as long as they're interested in handling the series they get first call on the new books.
Often times they also pick up a book that I originally intended for selfpub, such as SEAL Team 13 or Heirs of Empire... so it isn't that I WAIT for a contract for most stuff. I write it, if someone wants it then fine, if not then I self pub.
