When and why did you decide you wanted to be an author? Or have you always wanted to be an author?

I did not always want to be an author (foolish girl that I was!) When I was a kid, I wanted to be a Disney Animator. And in college I decided I wanted to be a screenwriter. It wasn't until I'd gone to film school and worked in Hollywood long enough to realize I didn't like it that I decided to try writing a book and it was SO MUCH FUN that I wished I'd been doing it all along.

Q: Your covers are AMAZING. If - ahem, *when* - my book is published, I want my cover to be just as gorgeous. Did you get to choose the artist, or were you just lucky?
