Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

R.G. Yoho I got the idea while watching the History Chanel's mini-series on the Hatfields & McCoys. Although it was interesting and well-done, I remember thinking that they failed to give us the most interesting history in West Virginia.

That was the story of the Matewan shootout, which led to the assassination of Sid Hatfield on the courthouse steps in Welch, which also led to the Battle of Blair Mountain.

That was when I decided to write the book, Return to Matewan.
