The book is about chemical weapons and international agents. So it may surprise you to know that I got the idea in a kids playground. I was chatting with the mother of one of my son's friends in a playground in Jerusalem. I asked her how she came to be in Jerusalem. She said her husband worked at the US consulate. "He's an ICE agent," she said. I immediately knew I had to write about an agency with such a cool acronym.
