In the Wanderling Woods, Sophie walked past a lot of trees. That means a lot of elves passed away. But it was mentioned that no elf has ever died of old age yet. So what did the elves die of? (I hope my question makes sense, and that it is not a spoiler. I've been thinking about this for a long time now, and I just wanted to get it out of my head.)

Shannon Messenger The question does make sense--but to answer it would not only be a spoiler (since anything that hasn't already been revealed in the books is a spoiler) but it would also be insanely long. There's no one way they all died. Each one of those trees was its own tragedy since elves are meant not to die.
