To learn about life in a motorcycle club, for the Thunder Road series (Nowhere But Here, Walk the Edge, Long Way Home) I reached out to a local club. I was familiar with this club as their clubhouse was near my stomping grounds as a teen.
I explained to the club who I was, what I was writing and that I wanted to do my best to write a legitimate motorcycle club as real as I could in a work of fiction.
They discussed me within their board and their national board and it was eventually decided that they would answer my questions and grant me access to their club.
I got to hang out with the club and talk to several of the members and these experiences helped shape the Thunder Road series.
