Sandi C asked Lori Foster:

Hi Lori! Love all your books and the Heroes you create! Where do you get your inspiration for writing theses stories and creating these characters?

Lori Foster Thank you so much, Sandi!
Inspiration is pretty much everywhere, and difficult to pinpoint. I can be minding my own business - perhaps watching TV, shopping, riding in the boat - and an idea will suddenly demand attention. There are very, very few books where I can see where the kernel of the idea began.
For When You Dare (and the subsequent series) it was during the movie Taken (the first one) where Liam saved his daughter, but left the rest of the girls in peril. (Human trafficking theme.) I wanted a hero who could save them all, so I wrote Dare, a man who went in to save one woman and came out with 2, then ruthlessly tracked down everyone responsible and obliterated them.
Oh, if only reality could be so successful against cruelty.
Thanks for the question!
